What is DTF?

DTF stands for Direct To Film. This technique involves printing your design directly onto a film and then transferring it to a T-shirt made of cotton, polyester, or their blends, regardless of their colour, as it can work with white ink.

Why Choose DTF?
DTF printing produces sharp detail, across a vibrant wide color gamut. DTF printers accept most art formats with drag and drop simplicity; without requiring rasterization, separation, or other complicated preparation steps.
At low quantities DTF printing tends to be much cheaper screen printing, since it avoids all screen setup costs while allowing for an infinite number of colors, and multiple locations can often fit on a single sheet.

Yes. DTF prints are generally washer and dryer safe, but there are a few tips to help make sure they last a long time without fading, cracking, or peeling.

Best Practices for Washing DTF-Printed Garments:

  • Turn the garment inside out before washing.

  • Use cold or lukewarm water (ideally under 104°F / 40°C).

  • Choose a gentle cycle on the washer.

  • Avoid harsh detergents or bleach.

  • Don’t use fabric softener — it can weaken the adhesive over time.

Best Practices for Drying:

  • Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry.

  • Avoid high heat — excessive heat can affect the adhesive layer.

  • Do not iron directly on the print — if needed, iron inside-out or place a cloth over the design.

Yes, you can definitely heat press DTF transfers yourself — You just need a few things and follow the right steps.

What You Need:

  • Order the DTF transfer sheet form us(pre-printed)

  • Heat press (heatpress machine or iron)

  • Garment (t-shirt, hoodie, etc.)

  • Optional: Teflon sheet or parchment paper

Basic Heat Press Settings for DTF:

  • Temperature: 290–320°F (140–160°C)

  • Time: 10–15 seconds

  • Pressure: Medium to firm

  • Peel: Usually cold peel (wait for it to cool before peeling the film)

After peeling:

  • Do a second press (5–10 seconds with a Teflon sheet) to lock in durability.
